Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) ID

1. Foreign National of Nepali Origin

Required Documents: -

1. A duly filled up application form (https://eontokyomofawrghqr.giwms-admin.gov.np/content/7/nrn-form-foreign-national-with-nepali-origin/)
2. A copy of Naturalization Certificate
3. Original Passport and copy of its biographic data page
4. A copy of Nepali Citizenship of the applicant (if the applicant remained a Nepali citizen in the past, first generation NRN)

Or

A copy of Nepali citizenship of the father or mother of the applicant (if the applicant is second generation NRN, i.e. the applicant is born as foreign national, but his/her father or mother was Nepali citizen)

Or

A copy of Nepali citizenship of grandfather/grandmother of the applicant (if the applicant is third generation NRN, i.e. the applicant and his/her father or mother were born as foreign national, but the applicant"s grandfather/grandmother were citizens of Nepal) and the document that proves the relationship between the applicant and the grandparent.

5. Three recent auto size photographs (2.5cm x 3cm)
6. Required fee: Japanese Yen 76,000/- (cash)
7. Documents/proof of any profession or business in the country of current nationality (if applicable)
8. Documents/proof of employment in the country of current nationality (if applicable)
1. Self-addressed pre-paid return envelope with tracking number (not required for self-pickup)

Renewal: - same requirements as above with a copy of the previous NRN ID

Loss/Damage: -

1. Same requirements as above with a copy of the lost/damaged NRN ID and a self-declaration letter declaring that the ID was lost (in case of lost only)
2. Required fee: Japanese Yen 152000/- (cash)

1. Nepali Nationals currently living abroad

Required Documents (New, Renewal and loss / Damage)

1. A duly filled up application form (https://eontokyomofawrghqr.giwms-admin.gov.np/content/8/nrn-card-nepali-nationals-residing-abroad/)
2. Nepali citizenship certificate and its copy
3. Nepali passport and copy of its biographic data page
4. Documents related to business in the current country of residence
5. Document/proof of employment in the current country of residence
6. Three recent auto size photographs (2.5cm x 3cm)
7. Fees of Japanese Yen 9000/- (cash) for new or renewal and Japanese Yen… in case of loss/damage
8. Copy of loss/damaged NRN ID application declaring the loss or damage.
1. Self-addressed pre-paid return envelope with tracking number (not required for self-pickup)

All copies of the required documents should be self-attested (by writing “true copy” at the back of the copies with signature of the applicant and the signed date
